The
8th – 12th October 2001 is e-business week (more information
can be found at www.ukonlineforbusiness.gov.uk/ebw).
This is a government
sponsored initiative to help smaller
businesses develop their Internet presence. During the week there
are events going on nationally - a
list of the events can be found on
their web site.
“There are lots of opportunities for smaller
companies to find out information about the how’s and why’s
of the Internet” said
Francis Jeffcock, Development director of
Thinking Virtual.
“Whilst
it must be remembered that the Internet
is not the Do All and End All of business,
it is going to have an important
effect on all businesses
in the future and the e-business
week is an excellent opportunity for business
owners and operators to find
our more about how it is
going to affect them, how they can
take advantage of it and how to make sure
that any investments that they make in
the Internet are
sound. |
Of course some companies will
not be able find the time to attend
these events but may find it beneficial to
go to the UK Online website (www.ukonlineforbusiness.gov.uk)
which has lots of easily
digested information.
They can also speak to their local Business Chamber,
Business Link or a local consultancy - as most offer an initial
consultation for free."
