Search engine optimisation

We focus on providing optimised strategies to drive visitors to your website by maintaining multiple top-level listings on the major search engines for relevant keywords.

Our approach to search engine optimisation is to develop your website’s Internet presence through a process of research and understanding.

Our target is to achieve as many listings on a search engine results page as possible. The more times your website is listed on a search engine results page, the more likely a visitor will visit.

We call this a Target Rich Environment.

We look to avoid the “Expectation Gap” - the expectation the consumer has having found your listing on a search engine, and their expectation when they arrive at the site.

We believe that the search engines should work well for the website but the website should also work well for the search engines. This means that we will work closely with your development agency making recommendations where we think improvements are possible.

We do not believe in just getting a website and throwing it out to as many search engines as possible. We believe in placing it with care in order to get the very best possible return so that the website adds value to your company.

Creating an Internet presence through Search Engine optimisation is not a one-off exercise, though. Search engines are constantly changing their presentation, rules, allegiances and ranking algorithms so keeping on top of these changes is an important part of what we do.

Search Engine Optimisation is a two-way process. You must first understand how the search engines work, and how they relate to each other before you can optimise a website to take advantage of them.

Similarly, it is important to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the different approaches available, so that resources can be focused in the most efficient way.

We should respect the dynamic nature of the search engines - what works today may not (and probably won’t) work tomorrow so it is important to remain flexible, and keep on top of the changing rules.

Search engine submissions

We submit sites manually to the search engines and directories. This is the best method of ensuring that the submission (and re-submission) process is carried out without error.

Submitting websites using automatic tools is unreliable, and in some cases impossible.

We keep records of every submission and re-submission we undertake on your behalf.

We believe that submitting your site to thousands of search engines will not produce the return to justify the process. There are too many to track, and their throughput is tiny compared to the major search engines.

Submitting your site to the principal group of search engines is the essence of good SEO.
