Each search engine has its
own preferences and its own algorithms for ranking a page.
It stands to reason, therefore, that in
order to tune your webpage effectively, we have to take into consideration
each of the search engines' preferences.
The problem is that tuning a page for
one search engine may cause a problem for another search engine.
In the worst case, the tuning on one search engine may be considered
"spamming" on another.
Our approach
It is important therefore to identify the important
search engines for your site, and tune pages with them in mind.
|
Of course, it is possible
to tune for more than one search engine, but this must be done with
care.
For example, some search engines do not take any
notice of Meta Tags, whereas others do. It may be possible,
therefore, to tune parts of the page for one search engine, and
other parts for another search engine.
Keywords
However, you can't tune a website until you know
which keywords to use. After all, you are trying to
make your page come first when people type in a particular keyword
or phrase in a search engines.
A pre-requisite for page optimisation is therefore
Keyword bandwidth analysis.
